119 Enugu Communities Abolish OSU Caste System
The 119 villages in the nine autonomous communities in Nsukka town, Nsukka Local Government Area of Enugu State has formalised the eradication of Osu Caste System in their communities. This was sequel to an unanimous decision of the monarchs, town unions and other traditional institutions in the communities in collaboration with a group, the Initiative for the Eradication of Traditional and Cultural Stigmatisation in our Society (IFETSCSIOS), to bring to an end to such harmful practices that had the communities down.
