63 year old man arrested for defiling two year old
A 63 year old man, Sunday igbinokhuaihe, has been arrested by men of the Edo State Police Command for allegedly defiling a two year old girl.
The incident happened in Urhonigbe, in the Orhionmwon Local Government Area of the state. The suspect was said to be a neighbour of the victim’s parents.
Igbinokhuaihe was alleged to have lured the girl into his room with a loaf of bread, after which he inserted his finger into her private part while the girls mother was preparing dinner in the kitchen.
It was gathered that the mother noticed something was amiss when her daughter screamed while she was bathing her later in the evening.
The little girl was said to have described how Igbinokhuaihe allegedly defiled her.
The matter was reported at the Urhonigbe Police Station and the suspect was arrested.
The Command’s Spokesman, Chidi Nwabuzor, said the police had completed investigation into the matter and the suspect would appear in court.
In a related development, an Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrates’ Court on Thursday ordered the remand of a 29 year old man, Olaleye Jimoh, at the Custodial Centre in Ado-Ekiti for allegedly raping a 50 year old woman.
The police prosecutor, Inspector Oriyomi Akinwale, told the court on Thursday that the defendant was arrested on January 24, 2021, at Odo-Owa Ekiti within the Ikole Ekiti Magisterial District.
The Magistrate, Mrs. Adefunmike Anoma, ordered that the defendant be remanded and adjourned the case till March 4, 2021 for mention.
