Four AIGs, CP Elevated To DIG, 13 CPs Become AIGs

The Police Service Commission(PSC) on Friday, promoted four Assistant Inspector General of Police and Commissioner of Police to the substantive rank of Deputy Inspector General of Police. The new DIGs were expected to represent their geo political zones in the Police Management Team. They are Usman Baba currently acting DIG Administration, Dan Mallam Mohammed, AIG in charge of Zone 13 Ukpo, Anambra State, David Folawiyo, AIG in charge of Zone 17, Akure and Joseph Egbunike, CP, Budget. According to the PSC spokesman, Ikechukwu Ani, the decision was taken at the meeting of the commission in Abuja. The commission also promoted 13 CPs to AIG. The PSC equally elevated 22 officers who lost their lives during the #EndSARS protests and another 121 officers injured during the crisis. The PSC Chairman, Musiliu Smith, who presided over the meeting enjoined the beneficiaries to rededicate themselves to the service of their fatherland. He promised that the commission would continue to ensure that promotion of deserving police officers “will be prompt and merit driven.”
