Real Madrid Could Lose Sergio Ramos This Summer

Real Madrid have reportedly accepted that Sergio Ramos could leave the club when his deal expires in the summer.

The 34-year-old’s future has been the subject of much speculation as he runs down the final few months of his contract, with a number of Premier League sides being linked with a swoop for the 100-goal centre-back.

Zinedine Zidane’s side have reportedly been attempting to negotiate a new deal – including a 10% salary cut amid the coronavirus pandemic – with the veteran defender, but he has reportedly rebuffed Real’s attempts twice now.

As a result, journalist Siro Lopez reports that Los Blancos will not table another contract offer and have conceded that Ramos will say his goodbyes in the summer.

The La Liga champions are believed to have identified soon-to-be free agent David Alaba as an ideal replacement for the departing Ramos, but the club also have the future of Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain-linked Raphael Varane to worry about.

Ramos is expected to return from a torn meniscus in time to see out the final few weeks of the season after undergoing successful surgery last week.
