Why Being World Bank Treasurer Made Me Feel Special – Arunma Oteh
A former Vice President and Treasurer of the World Bank, Arunma Oteh has said she felt special when she was appointed as the treasurer of the bank because she was the first black person to occupy the position. She added that inasmuch as people had different perceptions about Nigeria, she felt like the country’s ambassador at the international financial institution. Speaking at a webinar organised recently by the Central Bank of Nigeria in commemoration of the 2021 International Women’s Day, Oteh, who was the keynote speaker, advised women to read wide, build long lasting relationships, support themselves with positive people, see the fresh opportunity every failure presents and maintain positive attitude even when they are not fairly treated. These are what have guided me through my life and career.”
