Super Eagles Forward on Target for Fulham against Arsenal
Super Eagles forward Josh Maja was on target for Fulham in their premier league match against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.
The goal was not enough to guarantee the Cottagers all three points as Eddie Nketiah scored a dramatic late equalizer to snatch a draw for Arsenal and dent Fulham’s Premier League survival hopes.
The draw means Fulham have now dropped more points from winning positions away from home than any other team in the Premier League this season.
Maja scored the goal from spot-kick in the 59th minutes of the encounter after Gabriel conceded a penalty for tripping Mario Lemina.
Maja however became the second-youngest player to score a Premier League penalty against Arsenal, after Daniel Sturridge for Man City in November 2008 (19y 82d).
Also, Josh Maja’s penalty was the 87th to be scored in the Premier League this season, equalling the most in a single campaign in the competition’s history (also 87 in 2006-07).
The on-loan star from French Ligue one side Girondins Bordeaux left the field in the 77th minute and replaced by Ruben Loftus-Cheek in a tactical substitution made by Fulham’s coach Scott Parker.
Meanwhile, Ola Aina, Ademola Lookman, and Tosin Adarabioyo also featured in the match for the Cottagers.
