Katsina plans N2,000 development levy for residents, N500 on cow

Residents of Katsina State will soon start paying N2,000 annual development levy each while cow owners will also start paying N500 on each cow annually.

The new measure aimed at boosting the state internally generated revenue is however subject to ratification by the State House of Assembly.

The State Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Alhaji Farouk Jobe, made the disclosure on Wednesday in Katsina.

He tagged the proposed payment ‘Community Development Levy’.
