Three home remedies for cracked heels
One of the major causes of cracked heels is the buildup of dead skin in the heel, dryness in that part of the body can also lead to cracked heels so it is essential to start working on it when it starts feeling slightly harder than normal to prevent cracks.
Apart from the fact that our feet do the work of carrying the whole body from place to place daily, a lot of people unconsciously notice the state of our heels which might send a wrong signal if it is not properly kept, hence the need to take adequate care of our feet.
Here are 3 home remedies for cracked heels;
1. For Soft Heels: Everybody desires to have a soft heel because it feels more comfortable and you are less prone to cracks. The good news is that you can achieve this with just a handful of kitchen ingredients. The ingredients required include; 100ML seed oil, A handful of marbles, 500ML full-fat milk, A handful of rose petals, 5 drops of geranium oil, 5 drops of sandalwood oil, 2 tables wheatgerm oil, 1 tub of warm soapy water.
PROCEDURE: All you need to do is to mix these ingredients and soak your feet in them for about 20 minutes then pat to dry. Use a pumice stone to remove dead skin on the heels. Repeat this process as often as possible for better results.
2. Salt and Oatmeal Scrub: These ingredients do not just make the heel softer but help to remove dirt and grime. All you need is 1 cup of oatmeal, 100 grams of sea salt, 100 grams of honey, 100 grams of rice powder, 10 drops of juniper oil, and 100 ml of almond oil.
PROCEDURE: Mix all the ingredients properly and store them in an airtight jar. Use a loofah to apply it on your feet every day after bath. It helps to make the skin smoother and crack-free.
3. Lime and Sugar: One very quick and easy remedy for heels is to take lemon halves and dip them into 3 tablespoons of sugar. Rub it on the skin until all the sugar granules have melted into the skin. Let it dry before washing it off with water. Let it dry and apply petroleum jelly to it.
