Vocational skills will improve livelihood- Senator

The Chairman, Senate Committee on Finance and the lawmaker representing Lagos West Senatorial District, Senator Solomon Adeola has said training constituents in vocational skills will improve their economy.

Adeola said this on Sunday during an empowerment programme to distribute start-up kits to beneficiaries in Lagos.

He said, “The successfully trained constituents acquired skills in make up artistry, phone repairs, paint making, hair dressing, barbing, confectionery and fashion design and these beneficiaries will return to their homes with equipment and start up grants.

“With Lagos West Senatorial District accounting for over half of the 20 million population of Lagos, there is no doubt that developing its massive human resources in the area of education and skill acquisition will go a long way in improving the economic output of its mostly poor inhabitants”.

Adeola added that he would continue to contribute to human resource development in the state.

The Chieftain of the All Progressive Congress and Vice Chairman, APC Lagos West, Fusho Ologunde, advised the beneficiaries to make the best use of the equipment provided by the lawmaker and warned them not to sell the items.
