As an introvert, I shouldn’t have been in politics- Jonathan

Former President, Goodluck Jonathan has described himself as an introvert, who should not be deeply involved in partisan politics.

Jonathan spoke at the Gala night to round off the three day programme of the Unique University of Port Harcourt Class ’81 Reunion, which ended on Saturday in Yenegoa, the Bayelsa state capital.

The former president, a member of the class and host of the union said he was trying to figure out if he was an accidental politician.

At the event, Jonathan and a former Group Executive Director, Finance and Accounts, Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, Stanley Lawson, were given awards of honour by the Class’81.

Th ex-president rationalized that politics involved a lot of conversations and other activities which a conservative person might not be easily disposed to doing.

While expressing gratitude for the award, Jonathan said, “An introvert is supposed not to be involved in politics because politics involves much talking and you always want to show your presence. But somehow God has  a way of solving problems”.
