“Salah is the greatest in the History of Egyptian Football” – Wael Gomma

Al Ahly legend Wael Gomaa has praised Liverpool forward, Mohamed Salah as the best player in the history of Egyptian football. This comes after Salah hinted he would retire from international football after he failed to inspire the Pharaohs to the 2022 FIFA World Cup finals as they lost to Senegal in the final round of qualifying.

The 29-year-old winger also captained Egypt as they finished second behind Senegal at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations finals in Cameroon.

Gomaa, who won three AFCON titles with Egypt, would love to see Salah lift a trophy with the record African champions before he quits the international stage.

“I hope he wins a major trophy with the Egyptian national team,” Gomaa said on KingFut.

“Salah is the best player in Egyptian football history, he’s a legend and he added a lot to the national team.

“Despite being one of the best players in the world, he always shows commitment to the team and respect to everyone.”
