Video: Koulibaly asking a favour from John Terry as he joined Chelsea

After Kalidou Koulibaly signed for Chelsea he immediately called John Terry to ask his permission to wear the #26 jersey that the former Chelsea skipper donned throughout his career.

The Senegalese defender Koulibaly joined Chelsea last month from Napoli where he earned his popularity. Throughout his career, Koulilbaly has worn the #26 especially in his last club. This Terry had also done at Chelsea for 19 years.

And after he made his move to Koulibaly called Terry personally.

Koulilably then somewhat nervously looks away, before Terry replies: “Mate, number 26 was very special to me and I really appreciate you calling. It is no problem at all for me for you to take it, it’s an absolute pleasure.

“I wish you well because I know how important the number was to me. And I will see you wear it as well. It’s my pleasure to give you the #26.”
