Premier League Teams Relegated in the 2022/23 Season

The final day of the 2022/23 Premier League season started with three teams hoping to avoid the final two relegation places. Everton held the advantage ahead of their match with Bournemouth, standing on 33 points. Leicester, who were at home to West Ham, joined Leeds — hosts to Tottenham — on 31 points.

By virtue of their lead, Everton had their destiny in their hands. They took the opportunity, winning with a lone goal from Abdoulaye Doucoure to avoid their first relegation from the top flight since 1951.

Leicester supporters were intently watching the score from the Everton vs. Bournemouth match. The Foxes were on course to stay up when Harvey Barnes put them ahead, but Doucoure’s strike meant their eventual 2-1 win was immaterial.

Leeds season ended with a 4-1 thrashing at home to Tottenham, condemning the Whites to the Championship league which seems well-deserved.
