Recalling the early days of his comedy career, Acapella said, “I started doing comedy in 2002. I had always been the funny guy around my friends and family. As a kid, whenever anything happened and it was being narrated to my parents, my mum would say that she wanted me to be the person to give her the gist.

“Some of my biggest influences in the industry are Okey Bakassi, Basketmouth, AY, Bovi, D-Don, and Seyi Law. They are the biggest influences on my comedy career for different reasons. Outside Nigeria, one of the biggest influences on my comedy career is the American comic actor, Eddie Griffin.”
