Lizzy Anjorin-Lawal Assault Case: Legal Proceedings Unfold Against Alleged Offenders”

A significant legal development has emerged in the Nigerian entertainment industry, as legal proceedings unfold against several individuals accused of assaulting and blackmailing Nollywood actress Lizzy Anjorin-Lawal. The accused, comprising four women and two men, were brought before the Tinubu Chief Magistrates’ Court to face charges related to conspiracy, breach of peace, and causing bodily harm.

According to Prosecutor Inspector Samuel Isholla, the alleged incident occurred on February 5, 2024, at Oba Akintoye Market, Lagos Island, Lagos State. The defendants, identified as Qudus Jokogbola, Siri Olawale, Edu Shakirat, Fausat Mohammed, Kafayat Ahmed, and Opere Morenike, along with two others at large, are accused of forcefully assaulting and blackmailing Anjorin-Lawal, resulting in bodily injuries and a breach of public peace.

Represented by their legal counsels, S. Ade Oshodi and Ademola Olabiyi, the defendants pleaded not guilty to the charges leveled against them. Following their plea, Magistrate A.A Paul granted each defendant bail in the sum of N200,000, with one surety in like sum, pending further court proceedings scheduled for March 11.
