Unveiling the Reality: Asake’s Controversial O2 Arena Concert

Renowned skit maker and artist, Oderhwo Joseph Efe, popularly known as Carter Efe, has stirred controversy by revealing shocking details about Nigerian singer Asake’s concert at London’s prestigious O2 Arena.

In a recent episode of the Spill With Phyna Podcast, Carter Efe disclosed that Asake, a Grammy-nominated artist, faced unfair treatment during his performance at the O2 Arena last year. According to Carter Efe, the management of the venue went as far as turning off the lights and chasing Asake off the stage mid-performance.

Expressing his frustration, Carter Efe lamented the discriminatory behavior exhibited by Western music executives and show promoters towards Nigerian creatives. He criticized the perceived lack of respect and recognition given to Nigerian artists on international platforms, despite their immense talent and contributions to the music industry.

Detailing the incident, Carter Efe emphasized the need for Nigerian artists to stand together and support one another in the face of such challenges. However, he dismissed the idea of organizing concerts in Nigeria due to the inadequate facilities available for hosting large-scale events.
