Beyoncé has generated immense buzz with the revelation of the tracklist for her highly-anticipated album, “Cowboy Carter,” a follow-up to her acclaimed Renaissance. The lineup includes a rumored cover of Dolly Parton’s classic “Jolene” and a collaboration with country legend Willie Nelson on the captivating track “Smoke Hour.”
One notable absence from the list is any collaboration with fellow superstar Taylor Swift, sparking speculation among fans. Swift’s absence from “Cowboy Carter” adds an intriguing layer to the album’s anticipation, given her stature as a reigning queen of country music.
Despite the absence of a Swift collaboration, fans eagerly await Beyoncé’s innovative approach to shaping the country music landscape with this release.
The tracklist was revealed through vintage-style posters shared on Beyoncé’s social media platforms, presenting the extended title “Cowboy Carter and the Rodeo Chitlin’ Circuit.”
Set for release on March 29, “Cowboy Carter” features hit singles like “16 Carriages” and “Texas Hold ‘Em,” with the latter propelling Beyoncé to become the first Black woman to top Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart.
The album also promises intriguing tracks such as “Spaghetti,” “The Linda Martell Show,” “Riverdance,” “Tyrant,” and “Dolly P.”
Originally referred to as “Act II” by Beyoncé, the album’s title underscores her artistic vision, emphasizing that it transcends labels and defies genre expectations. As she stated, “This ain’t a Country album; this is a ‘Beyoncé’ album,” hinting at a genre-bending experience that showcases her versatility and creativity.
