J Cole Publicly Apologizes to Kendrick Lamar After Diss Track on New Album
In a surprising turn of events, J Cole has publicly apologized to Kendrick Lamar after dissing him on his latest album.
The rap feud between Kendrick Lamar and Drake was reignited recently, with Kendrick dissing Drake on a track titled ‘Like’ by Metro Boomin and Future.
In response to Drake’s earlier reference to himself, Drake, and Kendrick Lamar as the “big 3” in his hit single ‘First Person Shooter’, Kendrick excluded himself from the trio in his verse on ‘Like’, sparking tensions between him and J Cole.
J Cole responded with a diss track titled ‘7 Minute Drill’ on his surprise album ‘Might Delete Later’, throwing subtle shots at Kendrick’s discography and asserting his willingness to humble the Compton rapper.
However, during his performance at the 2024 Dreamville Festival, J Cole publicly expressed regret for dissing Kendrick, describing it as one of the “lamest” things he’s ever done.
He acknowledged Kendrick Lamar as one of the greatest rappers ever and apologized for belittling his catalogue, admitting that the diss disrupted his spirit.
