Man Hospitalized After Shooting Outside Drake’s Toronto Home
A man has been hospitalized with serious injuries following a shooting outside rapper Drake’s residence in Toronto. While the victim’s injuries are reported as serious, they are not considered life-threatening. Drake himself was not involved in the incident, confirmed by both paramedics and police.
The shooting occurred around 2:10 a.m. ET near the intersection of Bayview and Lawrence avenues, as announced by Toronto police on X (formerly Twitter). Upon arrival, officers discovered the injured man, who was promptly transported to Sunnybrook Hospital for treatment.
Although unconfirmed, there are speculations that the victim may have been one of Drake’s security guards, as suggested by reports from The Toronto Sun. However, official confirmation on this matter is pending. Despite inquiries, representatives for both Toronto police and Drake have not provided further comments or confirmation.
The assailant reportedly fled the scene in a vehicle, leaving police without detailed descriptions of either the suspect or the vehicle. CBC Toronto revealed that the ongoing investigation is focusing on Drake’s residence, with streets leading to the area cordoned off and police presence heightened.
An intriguing detail emerges as an aerial photo of Drake’s residence features in the artwork for Kendrick Lamar’s latest release, “Not Like Us.” This occurrence, however, is not necessarily linked to the shooting incident. The two rappers have been engaged in a high-profile musical rivalry, marked by a series of diss tracks with increasingly personal lyrics. While tensions have escalated recently, with both artists releasing multiple songs in rapid succession, there have been no explicit threats of violence.
Interestingly, fans have recently renamed Drake’s residence as “Kendrick’s Court” on Google Maps, possibly as a prank associated with the ongoing feud between the two rappers. Nearby structures have also been humorously renamed, adding a lighthearted twist to the situation.
