Tanja Meissner Named Director of Berlinale Pro and EFM, Bringing Decades of Industry Experience
Tanja Meissner, an esteemed film industry veteran renowned for her extensive expertise in international sales, has been appointed as the director of Berlinale Pro and the European Film Market (EFM).
Following the of Dennis Ruh after the recent EFM edition, Meissner assumes the directorial role, joining Berlinale festival director Tricia Tuttle’s executive team. Her responsibilities encompass overseeing the EFM and spearheading the development of the Berlinale Pro consortium, which includes the Berlinale co-production market, Berlinale Talents, and World Cinema Fund.
With a career spanning 25 years across production, distribution, and exhibition sectors, Meissner brings a wealth of experience to her new role. Her background as a sales agent includes significant tenures at esteemed companies such as Celluloid Dreams and Memento Films.
Meissner is set to commence her duties on May 13 and will represent the Berlinale team at the upcoming Cannes Film Festival.
