“I’m Wizkid, Burna Boy, Davido’s Godfather,” Claims Oritsefemi

Nigerian singer Oritsefemi Majemite Ekele, widely known as Oritsefemi, has boldly claimed that he is the godfather of fellow Nigerian music icons Wizkid, Burna Boy, and Davido. In a recent interview with Chude Jideonwo, Oritsefemi stated that he had already established himself in the music industry and made significant money before these artists rose to fame.

Reflecting on his journey and influence in the industry, Oritsefemi said, “I had already made money [from the music industry] when some people were sleeping [yet to come into the limelight]. Burna Boy, Wizkid, Davido, so many of them [young artists], I encouraged them. I’m like their godfather.”

He emphasized his role in supporting and motivating these younger artists, highlighting his impact on their careers. “Even some female celebrities who are now trolling me on social media, I accommodated them in my mansion in Lekki back in the days.
