Victony Credits Olamide for Inspiring His Debut Album

Nigerian singer Victony has expressed heartfelt gratitude to Olamide, the YBNL boss, for his pivotal role in encouraging him to release a full-length album. In an interview with Channels TV, Victony shared that he was initially hesitant to release an album, feeling unprepared for such a significant project. However, Olamide’s encouragement and support inspired him to take the plunge.

Victony revealed his initial plan was to release an EP, but after a conversation with Olamide, his perspective changed. “Shout out to Olamide again. Olamide is basically the reason why I have an album. He encouraged me to go for it. I wanted to put out a smaller body of work like an EP because I didn’t think I was ready for an album but after meeting Olamide and the words of encouragement he gave to me,” Victony said.

To honor Olamide’s influence, Victony gave him a special shoutout on the cover of his debut album, ‘Stubborn.’ This gesture underscores the profound impact Olamide had on his decision to pursue a full-length album.
