Victony Credits Olamide for Inspiring His Debut Album
Victony revealed his initial plan was to release an EP, but after a conversation with Olamide, his perspective changed. “Shout out to Olamide again. Olamide is basically the reason why I have an album. He encouraged me to go for it. I wanted to put out a smaller body of work like an EP because I didn’t think I was ready for an album but after meeting Olamide and the words of encouragement he gave to me,” Victony said.
To honor Olamide’s influence, Victony gave him a special shoutout on the cover of his debut album, ‘Stubborn.’ This gesture underscores the profound impact Olamide had on his decision to pursue a full-length album.
Victony praised Olamide for his dedication to supporting younger artists, highlighting the time and effort Olamide invests in guiding them. “Someone at that level making out time for people in my generation to make sure that we are making the right moves and doing what is necessary for our careers, I had to give him a shout-out to let people know he was part of everything that has to do with my album,” Victony explained.
