Rema Donates N105 Million to Christ Embassy Church

Nigerian music star Divine Ikubor, known professionally as Rema, has generously donated N105 million to Christ Embassy Church in Benin City, Edo State. This significant contribution was made during his visit to the state for the Edo@33 celebrations, which included the groundbreaking ceremony for the 6,000-capacity Edo Dome and a musical concert at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, both held at the invitation of the state government.

Rema’s donation was made to the Edo Regional Headquarters of the church, located on Erediauwa Street off Ekenwa Road. He expressed his gratitude for the church’s support during his family’s challenging times. The artist reflected on how the church played a crucial role in his life after his father’s death when he was just eight years old.

In his heartfelt address, Rema shared his experiences of feeling lost and abandoned after his father’s passing. He recalled how Pastor Joy and Pastor Thomas, leaders of the church, had opened a shop for his mother, which provided essential support for his family during that difficult period. Rema emphasized that his donation was a way to give back to the church that had been a pillar of strength and support for him and his family.

Rema’s donation includes a N40 million pledge towards the church’s infrastructural development, N20 million for the Rhapsody of Realities publication, and N25 million to support the church’s teen programs. Additionally, he announced a N20 million pledge to assist widows in attendance at the church service.

This act of generosity underscores Rema’s commitment to giving back to the community and acknowledging the impact of the church on his life. His substantial donation reflects his appreciation for the support and guidance he received during a pivotal time in his youth.
