Korede Bello Explains Why He Left Mavins Records
Korede Bello has shared the reasons behind his decision to leave Mavins Records, the music label led by Don Jazzy. The talented singer, who signed with the label in February 2014 and left in 2021, opened up in an interview with Hip TV hosted by reality star KimOprah. He explained that his departure was not just about his career but also about his personal growth and well-being.
Bello revealed that during his time with Mavins, he began to feel like a product, with the main focus being on making money rather than personal development. He felt that the pressure to constantly produce hit songs overshadowed his deeper need to connect with his true self and explore his inner worth. The artist shared that it was important for him to step away from the commercial aspects of his career and find meaning in his work.
He explained, “I was at a season in my life where I needed to metamorphose, to explore my inner worth, to do introspection, understand myself, understand meaning more, and reconnect to my why.” This desire for growth pushed Bello to leave the label and pursue a path that allowed him to focus more on his personal journey.
Bello also highlighted how the constant pressure to deliver hits can trap artists in a cycle of always chasing success, making it difficult to stay grounded in what truly matters. He shared that many artists, himself included, can become addicted to this chase, losing sight of their original purpose. His decision to leave Mavins Records was part of his effort to break free from this pattern and regain control over his life and career.
