Tems Responds to Pregnancy Rumours Involving Future

Nigerian singer Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems, has finally addressed the rumours claiming she was pregnant for American rapper Future. These rumours began circulating after Tems made an appearance at Burberry’s Spring/Summer 2024 London Fashion Week show in December. Wearing a black dress paired with a purple fluffy coat, many speculated that the way the outfit fit her suggested she might be expecting a child.

In a recent appearance on ‘The Breakfast Club,’ Tems expressed her confusion over the rumours, particularly questioning why Future was chosen as the alleged father. She humorously wondered why the rumour mill didn’t suggest other notable artists like Wizkid or Drake. “People just take the most controversial things. I was thinking, why am I pregnant for Future? Why Future? Because that’s the craziest,” she said.

Tems continued to playfully question the rumors, saying, “Why not Wizkid? Why not Drake? Why not somebody else? If it was Drake, it would be the same thing, but the reason why it is Future is because of his reputation.” She added that Future’s image as a “ladies’ man,” with multiple children, likely fueled the speculation.

Beyond the rumours, Tems took the opportunity to share some of her musical inspirations. She named influential rap artists such as Lil Wayne, Kendrick Lamar, Drake, Ab-Soul, Andre 3000, and J. Cole as key figures who have inspired her sound. Notably, she collaborated with Drake on his 2021 album “Certified Lover Boy.”

J. Cole, whom she also admires, was one of only two featured artists on Tems’ debut album, “Born In The Wild,” released earlier this year. Tems’ collaborations with international rap stars have further solidified her presence on the global music stage, and her response to the rumors highlights her ability to handle controversy with humor and grace.
