During the interview, Oxlade was asked about his past relationship and what led him to feel this way about love. He chose not to name his ex-girlfriend directly, referring to her only as “a thing.” He explained that revealing her identity could cause unnecessary drama and harassment, noting the power of the internet and how fans might react.

This incident, he said, significantly impacted him and changed his view on love.

He saw her later with someone else, which further deepened his sense of disillusionment.
