Nigerian fashion designer Veekee James has fired back at a troll who criticized her appearance, asserting that she is perfectly made by God. The incident started when an Instagram user claimed, “Na filter and wig dey help this woman,” suggesting that Veekee James’s beauty relied solely on filters and wigs.
In response, Veekee James shared a video on her Instagram on October 25, 2024, presenting her natural face without any makeup or wig. She took the opportunity to discuss the importance of the energy people project online and how it affects others.
“The problem with many of you is that you are not very smart,” she began, emphasizing the need for individuals to be intentional about the kind of energy they emit. She urged the troll to redirect her negative energy towards more productive pursuits, making it clear that she cannot be shamed.
Veekee James elaborated, saying, “If you come on my page and drop something that is supposed to make me feel ashamed, you should be ready to see that it yields results.” She added that those who try to shame her are wasting their time if they expect a different outcome.
She emphasized that negative comments do not impact her the way the troll might expect. “It’s clear you’re not purpose or self-driven. Who would be ashamed to come on social media with my natural face?”
Embracing her natural beauty, she stated, “This is the face of someone who hasn’t slept in days and has been under the sun. This is a perfect face, designed by God, with skin created by the Almighty. He made me in His image, I’m 100 percent. If you want to talk rubbish, go to the place where it might be appreciated… You can’t shame the shameless; I am unapologetically me.”
