Young Jonn Expresses Frustration Over Being Left Out of Best Musicians Discussions
Nigerian singer Young Jonn has expressed frustration over being excluded from conversations about the country’s best musicians. In a recent post on X (formerly Twitter), the “Dada” crooner lamented that he is often overlooked in these discussions, primarily because he began his career as a producer rather than a singer.
He wrote, “I see how you all leave me out of conversations probably cos I started as a producer. Continue! Time will tell!” His statement reflects the challenges he faces as an artist trying to make his mark in a highly competitive industry.
Young Jonn initially gained recognition as one of the in-house producers for YBNL Nation, where he worked on hit tracks for artists like Lil Kesh, Olamide, and others. His production skills were key to the success of several major songs, making him a respected figure behind the scenes. However, after leaving YBNL, he transitioned to a singing career under Chocolate City, a move that led to the release of several hit songs such as “Dada,” “Xtra Cool,” “Big Big Things,” “Bahamas,” and “Stronger.”
Despite his success as a singer, Young Jonn feels that his past as a producer continues to overshadow his achievements as an artist. He remains confident that over time, his talents will be recognized, and his place in the music industry’s elite circle will be secured.
