Renowned Nigerian gospel artist Pastor Nathaniel Bassey has been invited to minister at the prestigious Presidential Inaugural Prayer Breakfast for U.S. President-elect Donald Trump. The event is scheduled for January 20, 2025, at the Waldorf Astoria Presidential Ballroom in Washington, D.C., just hours before the official swearing-in ceremony.

The Presidential Inaugural Prayer Breakfast is a significant tradition held every four years to offer spiritual support for the incoming administration. This year’s event will feature worship and prayer sessions led by prominent religious leaders and speakers, including Dr. Alveda King and Pastor Mario Bramnick.

Pastor Nathaniel Bassey, celebrated globally for his soul-stirring worship music and leadership in the Hallelujah Challenge, expressed his gratitude and excitement about the invitation on his Instagram page. Sharing a poster of the event, he wrote, “Let’s raise a sound in America. See you on January 20, 2025.”

Known for powerful gospel hits like “Imela,” “Onise Iyanu,” and “Olowogbogboro,” Bassey has earned a reputation as one of Nigeria’s most influential gospel ministers. His unique blend of jazz, hymns, and medleys has touched audiences worldwide, earning him accolades and recognition. In 2024, his contributions were celebrated when the Mayor of Albany, New York, declared October 6 as “Pastor Nathaniel Bassey Day.”
