VeryDarkMan Calls for Raheem Okoya’s Arrest Over Naira Abuse, Insists Law Should Apply to All

VeryDarkMan, a prominent online personality, has called for the arrest of Raheem Okoya, the son of Nigerian billionaire Rasaq Okoya, over alleged naira abuse. The demand comes after a viral video showed Okoya mutilating naira notes, with a police officer present during the incident. In the video, which was widely circulated on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), VeryDarkMan voiced his concerns about the lack of legal action against Okoya, emphasizing that no one should be above the law.

While the police officer involved in the incident has already been arrested, Raheem Okoya has not faced any legal consequences for his actions. VeryDarkMan, who reacted to the video in a six-minute clip, stressed that the law should apply equally to all Nigerians, regardless of their wealth or social status. He pointed out that while the police officer had been arrested, Okoya had not been held accountable, even though his involvement in the crime was clear.

In his video, VeryDarkMan acknowledged that Okoya had issued an apology for the incident, but he argued that ignorance of the law is not a valid excuse. He compared Okoya’s situation to his recent arrest for wearing a police uniform, despite offering an apology. VeryDarkMan emphasized that if individuals like Bobrisky and Cubana Chief Priest had faced legal action for similar offenses, Okoya should not be exempt from the law.

He stated, “The law in Nigeria is for everyone, whether you’re rich or poor.” VeryDarkMan also described the video that went viral, which showed Okoya and the police officer allegedly bribing each other while mutilating naira notes. He criticized the officer for accepting the bribe, saying that he had been paid more than his salary to comply with the act.

The online community has expressed mixed reactions to the situation. Some users agreed with VeryDarkMan’s call for justice, stating that the law should be applied equally to everyone. Others questioned the authenticity of the naira notes in the video, with some suggesting that the notes may not have been original.

One commenter, @lesh_szajna, expressed skepticism about the situation, saying, “Make una Dey play nothing go do dem, the police know the rules, he would have stayed away from the camera.” Another user, @hereforawhile1i, agreed with VeryDarkMan, saying, “Yes oo, because if Nigerians can hold Bobrisky’s neck on the same case, they should keep the same energy on this also.”

As the controversy continues to unfold, it remains unclear whether legal action will be taken against Raheem Okoya. However, the incident has sparked a wider debate about the enforcement of laws in Nigeria, particularly regarding the treatment of wealthy individuals.
