Mohbad’s Widow Accuses Father-in-Law of Targeting Late Singer’s Properties
For the first time since the passing of singer Ilerioluwa “Mohbad” Aloba seventeen months ago, his widow, Omowunmi Aloba, has spoken out in an interview.
Omowunmi, who has faced intense scrutiny since her husband’s death, accused Mohbad’s father, Joseph Aloba, of attempting to control the late singer’s properties. Speaking with media personality Chude Jideonwo, she also alleged threats from her father-in-law and Mohbad’s former boss, Naira Marley.
She expressed fears for her safety and that of her son, Liam, stating, “My son and I no longer feel safe. I receive threats daily. My father-in-law wants to control Mohbad’s properties, and if he can’t, he is determined to ruin my life.”
Amid ongoing paternity disputes, Omowunmi declared her willingness to take a DNA test to confirm Liam’s paternity. She recounted accusations from her father-in-law, who claimed her son looked older than him and that Mohbad once attempted to throw the child off a bridge.
Joseph Aloba previously revealed that his doubts about Liam’s paternity intensified during the coroner’s inquest, where Mohbad’s friends alleged that the child was a source of disputes between the couple. He also claimed that Omowunmi never handed over Liam’s placenta to him or Mohbad, fueling his suspicions.
