A Muslim lady, a virtuous woman
Marriage is one of the most beautiful experiences of human life as Muslims. Nikkah, as it is called in Islam is relation between a man and a woman recognized by certain customs and laws. Almighty Allah has set rules and regulations to make sure that the attainment of Marriage is possible for every Muslim. The Holy Quran also indicates that the real and natural way to gain peace and satisfaction is through husband/wife relationship.
Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said, “There is nothing like marriage for the two who love each other”. Therefore, when two people (man and woman) love each other, they should get married to observe the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad as it is among the practice and teachings of the Holy Prophet.
Islam requires a wife to be obedient and submissive to her husband, she should protect herself and take care of her husband. Prophet Muhammad (peace be unto him) said, “If a woman does not perform her duties as a spouse, she has not performed her duties to Allah. In Islam, taking care of one’s husband has an important position as stated by Imam Ali (AS). The Jihad (holy war in the path of Allah) of a woman is to take care of her husband.
Islamic Shariah obliged a woman to be obedient and submissive to her husband unless if he commands her to disobey Allah. In another statement by Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H), “If a woman performs five daily prayers, fast the month of Ramadan, maintains her chastity and obeys her husband, it will be said to her, ‘Enter Paradise from any gate you wish”. In another statement by the Prophet of Islam (s.a.w), “Any woman who dies while her husband is pleased with her, enters paradise.
A righteous woman is a blessing by Almighty Allah, she is the soul of the home. Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) said, “The world and all the things in the world are precious, but the most precious thing in the world is a Virtuous Woman”. Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w) said, “If i were to order any one to prostrate before anyone else, i would order the woman to prostrate before her husband. Ideal Muslim wife does not disclose her husband’s secret or weakness to a third party, as it is said that “The paradise of a woman is beneath her husband’s feet”. A woman who disobeys her husband will be one of the two people who will receive the worst punishment on the day of judgement. Imam Rida (RA) stated, “The greatest gain of a man is a faithful woman who, when she sees him, becomes happy and protects his property and her honour in his absence”.
