Actor Kanayo Welcomes Son to Filmmaking Without Special Treatment

Veteran Nollywood actor Kanayo O. Kanayo recently welcomed his son, Clinton Mbaise, into the film industry. In a video shared on his Instagram page, Kanayo announced that Clinton would be joining his production company, Simpliciter Associates Productions, as an assistant production manager and personal assistant.

Kanayo made it clear in the video that Clinton is there to work and should be treated like any other crew member. He emphasized that special treatment due to their family connection would not be tolerated.

“This is Clinton Onyeze Mbaise, my first son. And he is joining us today as assistant production manager and as my personal assistant. Do not treat him like my son. It is a warning I am giving to everybody. He is here to work. He is going to earn a fee like every other person. Do not begin to say na K.O.K son. I no dey for that kind thing. Treat him as a member of the production crew.”

Clinton, a recent graduate of Babcock University with a degree in Information and Communication Technology, will be learning the ropes of production management while working with the team.

Kanayo expressed his desire for Clinton to gain valuable work experience and grow into a responsible individual. He emphasized the importance of treating him with the same respect as other members of the production crew.

In his caption, Kanayo highlighted the significance of children gaining work experience within their family’s businesses or other establishments, noting that it helps them appreciate the value of industry.

“We should let our children work in our organisations or other establishments to appreciate industry. Kudos Onyeze. Welcome on board Simpliciter Associates Productions,” he wrote.

Kanayo’s move to involve his son in the filmmaking process reflects a commitment to fostering a strong work ethic and sense of responsibility in the next generation.
