In an interview with Hiptv, Ade opened up about her career beginnings and her growth within the industry. She highlighted her love for entertainment and her transition from modeling to acting. “I don’t know if it’s my calling. I just love entertainment,” she said. Ade’s career started with comedy skits while she was still in the United States. Her breakthrough came when filmmaker Said Balogun reached out to her, leading her to feature in one of his projects. She eventually moved to Nigeria in 2012 to pursue her career full-time.
Reflecting on the challenges of balancing her career, Ade acknowledged the ups and downs inherent in the industry. “With every industry, there’s ups and downs. I’m grateful to still partake in what I’m doing, still grace everyone’s screen, and hope that I do a great job portraying the character I find myself in,” she noted. Despite Nollywood’s growing recognition, she believes there is always room for improvement.
Ade expressed a desire to break free from stereotypical roles. “A lot of times, maybe I’m being seen as fragile and sometimes it might limit roles that I’m given,” she said. She emphasized her versatility and readiness to take on diverse roles, urging filmmakers not to pigeonhole her into specific characters. “As fragile as I look, I can switch up. If you need me in that ghetto scene, I’m there. My switch game is top-notch,” Ade concluded.
