Adunni Ade Reveals Why She Relocated to Nigeria
Nollywood actress Adunni Ade recently opened up about her decision to relocate to Nigeria, crediting veteran actor Ramsey Nouah for inspiring her to make the move. During an episode of the Hip TV show Trending, hosted by reality star KimOprah, Ade revealed that it was her admiration for Nouah that ultimately led her to pursue a career in the Nigerian film industry.
Adunni explained that her journey to Nollywood began when she met Ramsey Nouah while still living in America, working as a model. During their conversation, she shared her aspirations, and Nouah gave her the encouragement she needed to take a leap of faith. “He was the one who gave me confirmation to move to Nigeria,” she said. “I met him before I came to Nigeria, told him my goals, and he gave me a good pep talk. That’s when I made the decision to move down.”
Despite relocating in 2011, Adunni shared that she didn’t get a chance to work with Ramsey Nouah until years later. Their paths finally crossed again at a film festival, and it was after a brief exchange of pleasantries that she received an unexpected call from a producer. “The next day, I got a call from Chris, Ramsey’s good friend, saying, ‘What did you give Ramsey to eat? He just cast you.’ I had goosebumps,” she recounted, expressing her joy at finally getting to work with the actor she had admired for so long.
Adunni’s Nollywood career began with her first role in the Yoruba-language film You or I in 2013. Since then, she has featured in numerous movies across both English and Yoruba-speaking sectors of Nollywood. Her work alongside Ramsey Nouah, both as a co-actor and under his direction, has only deepened her respect for him as a phenomenal talent and a generous human being.
Reflecting on her career journey, Adunni Ade expressed gratitude for the role Ramsey Nouah played in helping her realize her dreams of becoming a successful actress in Nigeria. Through his support, she transitioned from a career in modeling in America to making a name for herself in Nollywood, where she continues to thrive today.
