AFCON: Coach Eguavoen Mentions a Player Who Won’t Play Against Guinea-Bissau

Super Eagles coach for the AFCON, Augustine Eguavoen, has indicated that Chidozie Awaziem may not be in action on Wednesday when Nigeria meet Guinea-Bissau in their last group game in the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations.

The Super Eagles coach said in press conference that the defender will be monitored in training sessions before he determines whether or not be included in the squad because of his illness.

“Awaziem was a bit ill and he’s okay now. The sprain of the ankle also has been taken care of,” Eguavoen told the press on Tuesday.

“It’s a bit difficult to say he’s going to be available for selection.

“He only trained yesterday, this evening he will also partake and then we will come out with the team sheet tomorrow you will see.”

Nigeria have qualified for the knockout stage of the tournament after defeating both Egypt and Sudan.
