Afrobeats Sensation Rema Declares Breakthrough in Music, Vows to Empower Youths

Afrobeats sensation Daniel Ikubor, widely known as Rema, has announced a significant milestone in his music career, expressing his intention to empower young people following his breakthrough in the industry. Rema made this revelation during a luncheon hosted by Governor Godwin Obaseki at the Government House in Benin City, Edo State, on Friday.

Highlighting his global performances as opportunities to showcase Benin culture through his artistry, Rema emphasized the need for youth empowerment and advancement. He stated, “This is the time to do something for youths. I have been able to make a breakthrough in the music industry. I carried the city on my back and on my shoulders and expressed my culture in the best way I could.”

Acknowledging the importance of governmental and individual efforts in fostering progress, Rema urged young people to embrace new opportunities for community development and the evolution of the entertainment industry.

Expressing gratitude to the people of Edo State for their unwavering support throughout his musical journey, Rema lauded Governor Obaseki’s commitment to the welfare of young people in the state. He emphasized the significance of youth engagement, stating, “I would not be here in the first place if not for the youths in Nigeria.”

Obaseki remarked, “We have commenced the conversation with him on an iconic art project for this city and this part of the country.”
