Ahneeka Criticizes BBNaija Winner Phyna for Publicly Addressing Prize Money Issue
Former Big Brother Naija housemate Maryanne Ahneeka Iwuchukwu has expressed disapproval of Season 7 winner Phyna’s public criticism of the show’s organizers regarding incomplete prizes. Phyna recently tearfully called out BBNaija organizers for not fulfilling their obligation of paying her 1BTC owed by one of the sponsors, which has now appreciated to over N100 million.
In response, Ahneeka questioned Phyna’s approach, stating that publicly calling out the organizers was not a wise decision. Speaking on the ‘Terms & Conditions’ podcast, Ahneeka suggested that Phyna and other past winners should not feel entitled to their prizes.
She emphasized the challenges that arise after leaving the Big Brother house, noting the sudden surge in popularity and followers. According to Ahneeka, managing newfound fame requires careful thought and effort, and individuals should not assume they are invincible.
Ahneeka acknowledged the possibility that Phyna may be owed money by the organizers but suggested that she should have pursued a more diplomatic approach, such as engaging in civil discussions. She cautioned against resorting to social media blackmail, indicating that Phyna could have potentially not emerged as the winner if circumstances were different.
Ahneeka concluded by stating that nobody inherently deserves the prize money, challenging the notion that Phyna or any other contestant is entitled to it.
