Akwa Ibom Offers Free Tickets for Super Eagles vs Zimbabwe Match
The Akwa Ibom State Government has announced free tickets for the Super Eagles’ crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Zimbabwe on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo.
According to the Commissioner for Sports, Paul Bassey, Governor Umo Eno has purchased all 30,000 tickets to ensure massive support for the national team. Bassey emphasized that tickets would be distributed at designated locations, including radio stations, De Venus Bar and Restaurant, Uyo Township Stadium, and Ibom Plaza. However, no tickets will be available at the stadium gates, so fans are advised to collect theirs in advance.
To further boost morale, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has announced that the first 500 fans to collect tickets will receive Super Eagles jerseys. NFF General Secretary, Dr. Mohammed Sanusi, urged fans to turn out in large numbers, just as Rwandan supporters did during the Super Eagles’ last match in Kigali.
Currently, the Super Eagles are in a challenging position in the qualifiers, sitting fourth in their group with six points from five matches. Their only win so far came against Rwanda on Friday. The team is hoping for strong home support to boost their chances of securing a vital victory against Zimbabwe.
