Angela Okorie Criticizes Zubby Michael for Publicizing Donation to Junior Pope’s Family

Nollywood star Angela Okorie has criticized her colleague, Zubby Michael, for publicizing his donation to the family of their late colleague, Junior Pope. A video of Michael making a donation to Junior Pope’s widow, Jennifer Awele, and their children has gone viral on social media, sparking controversy.

In response, Okorie condemned Michael for making the donation “on camera,” arguing that the burial of a young person is not the appropriate place to flaunt wealth. She expressed her disapproval on her Instagram story, writing: “Zubby na young person die, that showcase of money wasn’t necessary. But as a local boy that you are, you don’t have sense. You don’t know where to do show and where to behave well. Abi you get money pass all the dignitaries wey come there? Mugu.”

Okorie’s comments highlight her belief that certain situations, such as a burial, should be handled with more sensitivity and respect, rather than turning them into a spectacle.
