Annie Macaulay Steps Out for the First Time After Split from 2Baba
Actress and reality star Annie Macaulay, formerly known as Annie Idibia, has made her first public appearance since her separation from music icon Innocent Ujah Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba.
A video shared on Instagram on Monday, March 31, showed Annie in good spirits, laughing and chatting with close friends, including actress Regina Daniels, during what appeared to be a casual outing. This marks her return to the public eye after months of social media silence.
Back in January, 2Baba shocked fans by publicly confirming their separation in an Instagram post, stating, “Annie Macaulay and I have been separated for a while now and have currently filed for divorce. No one hacked my account. I said what I said. I come in peace.”
Since then, Annie has cleared her Instagram page and changed her bio, officially dropping the name “Idibia” and reverting to her maiden name, “Annie Uwana Macaulay.” Reports indicate that the name change appeared shortly before she made her return to social media on March 27.
The former couple, who tied the knot in 2012 and share two daughters, have also unfollowed each other on Instagram, further confirming the rift.
Annie’s public reappearance has sparked mixed reactions online. Some fans sympathized with her, acknowledging her love for 2Baba, while others suggested she would now find peace. However, some questioned her friendship with Regina Daniels, believing it might not be the best influence.
Despite the ongoing speculation, Annie has not officially spoken about the divorce. However, her social media updates and recent outing suggest she is gradually moving forward and embracing a new chapter in her life.
