APC Clears 12 Governorship Aspirants for Edo Primaries

Ahead of the scheduled primary election on Feb. 17, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced the clearance of all 12 aspirants vying for its ticket in the Sept. 22 Edo governorship election.

According to reports from the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), each of the 12 aspirants purchased and submitted completed forms, which were sold at N50 million each.

The list of aspirants includes Clem Agba, Monday Okpebholo, Lucky Imasuen, Anamero Dekeri, Osagie Ize-Iyamu, Gideon Ikhine, and retired Col. David Imuse. Other contenders are retired Gen. Charles Ehigie Airhiavbere, Oserheimen Osunbor, Blessing Agbomhere, Dennis Idahosa, and Ernest Afolabi Umakhihe.

The APC’s schedule of activities for the governorship election indicates that campaigns will commence on April 24. Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, the party’s National Chairman, has affirmed the party’s commitment to conducting free, fair, and credible governorship primaries, providing assurance to all aspirants.
