Ayra Starr Admits to Being a Social Media Troll Before Fame
Nigerian singer Oyinkansola Sarah Aderibigbe, popularly known as Ayra Starr, has revealed that she was once a social media troll before rising to fame.
Speaking on the I Said What I Said podcast, co-hosted by Feyikemi Abudu and Jola Ayeye, the 22-year-old singer shared that she ran a dedicated fan page for rapper Nicki Minaj and actively engaged in online banter.
“I had a troll page, I had a Nicki Minaj fan page before I became Ayra Starr,” she admitted.
Since gaining fame, Ayra Starr has often spoken out against online bullying, as she has been the target of trolls criticizing her choice of outfits and posture. In response to past criticism, she once joked that her “bad postures” were due to the weight of carrying Afrobeats on her shoulders.
Her revelation highlights the irony of social media culture, where former trolls can become stars and later face similar scrutiny from others.
