Ayra Starr Reveals Her Music Journey Started in Children’s Choir

Nigerian singer Oyinkansola Sarah Aderibigbe, popularly known as Ayra Starr, has opened up about how her early days in a church children’s choir played a vital role in shaping her music career.

In a recent chat with Amazing Jazzy, the talented artist revealed that she began singing at the age of 10 and served as a lead vocalist in her local church choir. She described the experience as a defining moment that helped her discover her voice and develop her unique sound.

“I loved being in the choir. I was like the loudest child—it was the kids’ choir, actually, and everyone was little,” Starr recalled. “It was the first time I discovered that I could sing. It helped me shape my voice and music.”
