Baba Tee Confesses to ‘Brief’ Encounter With Ijoba Lande’s Wife
Nollywood actor Babatunde Bernard Tayo, popularly known as Baba Tee, has admitted to having a brief sexual encounter with Dara, the wife of comedian and skit maker Ganiyu Morufu, also known as Ijoba Lande. This revelation came during a live interview with socialite Esabod and other TikTok users on Sunday, March 9, 2025.
Baba Tee had initially denied the allegations and challenged Ijoba Lande to provide evidence or face legal consequences for defamation. However, in his latest statement, he confirmed that the encounter happened during a visit to his home, where a “Truth or Dare” game led to the incident. He explained that he was unaware of Dara’s marital status at the time, as she had been introduced to him as a content creator by actress Marygold.
Reflecting on the situation, Baba Tee expressed regret and claimed he had been set up. “It happened, we had it, I will not deny that. It is now that I discovered that it was a set-up by both of them to malign my personality,” he said. Following his confession, Esabod advised him to apologize to Ijoba Lande for both the act and his previous denials. Baba Tee later issued a public apology on his official Facebook page, writing, “I am deeply sorry from the bottom of my heart, brother, Lande… I fear women.”
The controversy began when Ijoba Lande accused over 20 entertainers, including Baba Tee, of being involved with his wife, a situation that led to their separation in January 2025. The allegations stirred heated discussions within the entertainment industry, with several figures denying any involvement.
Marygold, who had introduced Dara to Baba Tee, was also caught in the controversy. She admitted to taking Dara to Baba Tee’s house without informing Ijoba Lande but insisted that the sexual encounter was not planned. “I accept that I made a mistake by taking her to Baba Tee’s house without Lande’s knowledge, but I never planned for them to have sex,” she stated.
The unfolding drama has sparked widespread reactions, with many social media users debating the role of trust, betrayal, and personal responsibility in the entertainment industry. While some sympathize with Baba Tee for claiming he was set up, others argue that he should have exercised better judgment.
