Bamise: Passengers Stranded As BRT Suspends Operations

Passengers were left stranded Tuesday morning at the various Bus Rapid Transit terminals across Lagos state with no bus in sight following the death of of 22-year-old Bamise Ayanwole, who was allegedly abducted and killed after boarding a BRT vehicle on Friday.

Flormedia had reported that dead body of Bamise who got missing after boarding BRT bus from Ajah was reportedly found with some body parts missing on Monday.

Bamise got missing while returning to Ota from Ajah on February 26 when she boarded a BRT bus with number 240257 going to Oshodi about 7 pm at Chevron Bus-Stop.

At the Ikorodu BRT terminal, there were no buses at the terminal to convey stranded passengers to their various destinations for fear of attack following the death.

An official of Primero, who preferred anonymity, confirmed that the operations of the BRT had been temporarily suspended across the state owing to the unfortunate incident that led to the killing of Bamise.
But he assured the commuters that the issue was being handled by the state government and services would be restored as soon as possible.

Asked what was being done about it, the official said he could not say.
The Primero head office could not be reached as of the time of filing this report.
