Bayern Munich Decides Against Sacking Tuchel Despite Defeat to Bochum
Bayern Munich has opted against parting ways with Thomas Tuchel following a disappointing 3-2 loss to Bochum on Sunday, as confirmed by Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg.
The defeat widened the gap for the Bundesliga champions, who now trail eight points behind the current league leaders, Bayer Leverkusen. Additionally, it raised concerns of Bayern facing a trophyless season for the first time in 12 years.
Notably, the defeat marked Bayern’s third consecutive loss across all competitions, prompting speculation regarding Tuchel’s future. Despite the cancellation of Tuchel’s post-match press conference, signaling potential managerial changes, the club’s CEO, Jan-Christian Dreesen, asserted that Tuchel would retain his position.
In response to inquiries about Tuchel’s status, Dreesen expressed disappointment with the team’s performance but refrained from making definitive statements regarding the coach’s tenure. “I feel rubbish. I don’t believe in big statements about the coach. This issue isn’t on our mind at the moment,” Dreesen stated.
Tuchel, for his part, has reportedly shown a determination to continue leading the team, rejecting any notions of resignation.
