BBNaija 9: Prize Money Reduced to N100 Million for 2024 Season

MultiChoice Nigeria has announced that the winner of the 2024 edition of the Big Brother Naija (BBNaija 9) reality TV show will receive a grand prize of N100 million. This announcement was made by Busola Tejumola, the Executive Head of Content and West Africa Channels at MultiChoice, during a press briefing held in Lagos.

The much-anticipated Season 9 of BBNaija is set to premiere on Sunday, July 28, at 7 PM WAT, and it will be broadcast live across all Africa Magic channels. The decision to reduce this year’s prize money to N100 million marks a notable change from the N120 million awarded in the 2023 edition, also known as Season 8.

Busola Tejumola highlighted that after 71 days of intense gameplay, the winner will be announced on October 6, 2024, and will receive a grand total of N100 million in cash along with a brand-new SUV. This adjustment in the prize money has stirred conversations among fans and followers of the show.

In the previous season, Kogi State-born Ilebaye Odiniya walked away with the N120 million grand prize during the ‘All-Stars’ edition. The organizers have assured viewers that the upcoming season will be filled with new twists and unknown housemates, promising a show that will captivate audiences with unexpected turns, dramatic moments, and intriguing alliances.

Auditions for the ninth season began on March 27 and concluded on May 4. The organizers have promised a season packed with “double drama, relationships, and huge competition,” as participants will be paired to enhance the dynamics of the show.

The excitement and anticipation surrounding BBNaija 9 are palpable as fans look forward to witnessing the drama, entertainment, and surprises that have become synonymous with the show.
