BBNaija: Housemates in the Nollywood Movie Industry
Many members of the BBNaija TV Show have either become actors or were actors before letting the show add a boost to their careers. Here is a list of some housemates who are presently in the Nigerian movie industry.
Tobi Bakre
Tobi Bakre is a Nigerian actor, model, host and photographer. Bakre was an ex-housemate in the BBNaija Season 3 show titled, “Double Wahala”.
After the reality show, he ventured into acting, featuring in popular Nollywood movies such as Mokalik, Sugar Rush, Fix Us, Jenifa’s Diary and The Blood Covenant.
Nengi
Rebecca Nengi Hampson was one of the Season 5 housemates in the reality show, tagged “Lockdown”. Immediately after the show, the reality TV star embarked on acting and modelling, featuring in movies such as Rattlesnake, Badboys and Bridesmaid. Nengi was also featured on the television show, Nkoyo, produced by Annie Idibia.
Bisola
Bisola Aiyeola is a Nigerian actress and singer. She was one of the housemates in the Big Brother Naija 2017 show tagged “See Gobe”. After her performance in the competition, the TV star and singer ventured into acting, playing lead roles in popular movies like Sugar Rush, This Lady Called Life, Ovy’s Voice, Dwindle, Picture Perfect and many others.
Bisola so far has won the 2018 Africa Magic Viewers Choice Award (AMVCA) and 2020 Best Of Nollywood awards for Best Actress in a supporting role in the Sugar Rush film.
Erica
Erica Ngozi Nlewedim is a Nigerian model, actress and entrepreneur who starred in the Big Brother Naija 2020 “Lockdown” edition.
Despite being disqualified from the show, Erica has earned a name for herself in the Nigerian film industry. She appeared in several Nollywood movies, among which are: The Blood Covenant, Hire a woman, Devil in Agbada, Bitter Rain, Made in Heaven, and many others.
Teddy A
Tope Adenibuyan, popularly called Teddy A got into the 2018 Big Brother Reality show, “Double Wahala”.
He has starred in The Gift, No Budget, Unsane, and the popular Tv show Jenifa’s Diary.
Pere
Pere Egbi is popular for participating in BBNaija 6 Shine Ya Eyes, where he became the second runner up.
Pere starred in numerous Nollywood movies before contesting on BBNsija show. Some of the movies are; Gem of the rainforest, Pound of flesh, Page 36, Nikki: A Hip Hop Love Story, Lonely Heart and All that glitters
Gideon Okeke
Gideon Okeke is a talented Nigerian actor, model and TV presenter. He rose to fame after participating in the first edition of Big Brother Nigeria and he’s also known for his role as Philip Ade Williams in the TV series “Tinsel”.
Gideon appeared on the South African TV series “Jacobs cross” and also a role in the Irokotv series “Poisoned Bait” as directed by BAFTA LA award winning director, Leila Djansi. He is also notable for “A place in the stars” and many others.
