Bella Shmurda Explains Hesitation to Collaborate with Portable

Afrobeats star Abiola Ahmed Akinbiyi, widely known as Bella Shmurda, has opened up about his reluctance to collaborate with the controversial singer Habeeb Okikiola, also known as Portable. In a recent interview with Max FM, Shmurda acknowledged the potential for great musical chemistry with Portable but expressed concerns over the latter’s controversial reputation.

Bella Shmurda, famed for his hit song “Cash App,” mentioned that although he believes their musical styles would complement each other well, he is hesitant to work with Portable due to the drama that often surrounds him. “I feel me and Portable will blend on a song, but I am not ready for wahala [problems] right now,” Shmurda stated.

Portable, who shot to fame with his hit track “Zazoo” in 2021, has been a figure of numerous controversies. His latest disputes include an online feud with Davido and rapper Zlatan Ibile. Portable accused Davido of giving him “bad advice” during a recent dinner in the United States and alleged that Zlatan interfered with his relationship with the DMW boss.

These controversies have contributed to Shmurda’s caution. Despite recognizing the potential for a successful collaboration, Shmurda prefers to avoid the possible complications that could arise from working with Portable.
